Through Floor Lifts

Through floor lifts are a type of wheelchair lift that allow a user to mount a platform and then be carried through the floor above. It is a convenient lift designed primarily for use in the home of a wheelchair-bound person. It is often not practical to install a stair lift or platform lift, but this shouldn’t mean that the user can’t travel between floors in their own home without assistance. A through floor lift makes this possible in buildings that may be smaller, or not suitable for another type of disabled lift for whatever reason.
A through floor lift must be designed to perfectly fit it’s location. Measurements such as height and width of the shaft must be taken into account to provide a lift that is totally unique and ideally suited for its purpose. Aspects such as colour, dual remote controls and on board emergency phone can be demanded to suit the user’s requirements. Safety is a huge issue when it comes to installing disabled lifts. The lift must adhere to safety regulations, and ensure the passenger is secure at all times. An additional power supply is installed on most through floor lifts in the event of power failure.
